Wasel Abu Youssef, PLO Executive Committee member, told Anadolu News Agency that any meeting between Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, in Moscow must come only after other steps are taken by Israel in order to ensure its success.

Abu Youssef referred to putting an end to the creation of further Israeli settlements, and the release of detainees arrested before the Oslo Accord.

Abu Yousef voiced his suspicion that Netanyahu is trying to thwart the planned international peace conference to be held in Paris in order to resolve the Palestinian issue, while at the same time give off the impression that there are political talks with the Palestinians.

Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that he is considering a Russian offer to meet with the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Moscow.
