A young Palestinian man was found hanged to death at a construction site in the al-Amari refugee camp near Ramallah in the central West Bank on Saturday, according to Palestinian police.

Police spokesman Luay Irzeiqat said in a statement that Ramallah police were alerted by locals when a young man was found hanged to death at the site, which was being used for residential construction.

According to Irzeiqat, police detectives arrived at the site and found the body of a 25-year-old man whom they claimed to be from the Ramallah-area village of Jammala, though he was not named.

The body was taken to a forensic institute for an autopsy, the statement added, saying that police detectives were continuing their investigation into the death.
