Ahmed Dawabsheh, the sole surviving member of the Duma village arson attack, was hospitalized at Israel’s Tel Hashomer last night after his health deteriorated.

Nassr Dawabsheh, the family’s representative and Ahmed’s uncle, said the five-year-old’s “health has severely deteriorated,” adding that Ahmad has suffered from “constant vomiting and an increase in body temperature.”

Ahmed is undergoing tests and is expected to stay in hospital for at least a few days.

Ahmad’s home was set alight in an arson attack in the town if Duma in Nablus,  in July 2015, which killed his parents and 18-month-old brother. Ahmed sustained burns to 60 percent of his body following the attack.

He was officially released from the hospital last month, returning for weekly checkups and with additional surgeries expected over the coming months, most of them plastic surgeries to help reconstruct parts of his body and face which were severely burned.

Amiram Ben-Uliel, 21, a member of a group of young Israeli settlers who set up unauthorized outposts on West Bank hilltops and are accused of carrying out so-called “price tag” attacks against Palestinians and their properties, was charged with three counts of murder of the Dawabsheh family.

An unnamed minor was also charged as an accomplice in the attack.

    • Yes, he is. The fever went down, but last time we checked, two days ago, he was still at the hospital, being monitored by doctors.
