The Al-Qassam Brigade has pledged to free all Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli jails, Quds Press reported yesterday.

In a report published on its website, Al-Qassam Brigade said: “The [Israeli] enemy is confused and will remain confused despite all the technology and intelligence equipment it has. “ It added, “It will not get any piece of information about its soldiers, who are currently kept in an unknown place.”

On 20 July 2014, Al-Qassam captured an Israeli soldier in the east of Gaza city, and killed 14 others. It has not given any information about the soldier’s location or whether he is alive or dead.

Days later, Al-Qassam announced that it had captured another Israeli soldier in the city of Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip.

Two other soldiers entered the Gaza Strip after the 2014 Israeli offensive and are currently held by Al-Qassam.

In 2006, the group captured an Israeli soldier along the eastern borders of Gaza and reached a prisoner swap deal with Israeli in 2011. Israel agreed to release more than 1,000 Palestinian prisoners in return for the release of the Israeli soldier.
