Palestinian national and Islamic factions are set to meet the head of the Palestinian Central Election Committee, Dr. Hanna Nasser, in the Gaza Strip today, who will arrive with a delegation from the Central Election Committee, the Palestine Today website reported.

The meeting will see the signing of a document of honor among the various political factions to hold the local elections and to provide guarantees to respect its results, based on clean competition between the various electoral lists, which serves the interests of the public and achieves national partnership.

Earlier, the Palestinian Central Election Committee welcomed a Hamas statement in which the movement asserted the necessity to hold local elections in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and its readiness to facilitate the process.

The movement said it will participate in local elections, will facilitate it and will work to make it successful, so that it serves the interests of the Palestinian people on the basis of transparency and equal opportunities, and to respect its results.
