Over 40 French rights groups have launched a campaign in solidarity with Palestinian children inside Israeli jails, Anadolu news agency reported on Friday.

The campaign called for the international community to act for the sake of Palestinian prisoners inside Israeli jails.

According to Anadolu, the campaign sent a team to Israeli prisons to meet with Palestinian prisoners and listen to their stories.

The campaign also shows a number of documentaries every week featuring the ill-treatment of Palestinian prisoners, with a focus on children.

The campaign announced earlier that it had started to prepare a comprehensive report on the Israeli torture of Palestinian prisoners which will reportedly be made public on 13 May.

Last week, the Defence of the Children Movement announced that there are currently 440 Palestinian children inside Israeli jails.
