Gaza: Israeli Attack Kills One, Injures Five

One Palestinian has been killed and at least five others injured in an Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip.

On Tuesday, Israeli warplanes, Apache helicopters, drone aircraft, and tanks launched several airstrikes, targeting eastern Gaza as a result of which at least one Palestinian has been killed and five civilians wounded.

According to Press TV’s correspondent, a loud explosion was heard in the area, causing panic among residents.

The attacks were made despite a recent agreement between Tel Aviv and Hamas to call a truce.

Israel regularly uses the assassination drones to launch attacks or to detect targets for Israeli F16 fighter jets and Apache helicopters.

Washington contributes USD 3 billion worth of military aid to Israel annually. It also closely collaborates with Tel-Aviv on the development of unmanned aerial vehicles as part of the annual contribution.

Israel has kept the Palestinian Gaza strip under siege since 2007. The 22 day war at the turn of 2009 launched by Israel on the impoverished strip claimed the lives of more than 1,400 Palestinians, including over 900 civilians.
