IDF Warns Officers about CIA Recruitment

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) has warned its officers and soldiers about an ongoing recruitment campaign by America’s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). According to Israel’s Channel 2, a letter sent by the IDF on Sunday said, “Be aware, and report any unusual incidents.”

The news report referred to an article in Israel’s Yedioth Ahranoth in 2012, in which Israeli soldiers were said to have received communications from the CIA about confidential issues and were asked to consider working for the agency. The Israeli media claimed last year that the US was spying on Israeli leaders.

Israel has a strategic relationship with the United States, which is regarded as its most important partner in terms of foreign relations.
