The Israeli occupation forces shot dead a Palestinian and injured another after opening fire at their car this morning, to the north of Jerusalem.

According to the Israeli Channel 7 website, the Israeli occupation forces opened fire at three Palestinians at Al-Ram checkpoint to the north of Jerusalem “after their car attempted to hit Israeli soldiers”.

A Palestinian died on the scene while another was transferred to hospital. A third Palestinian, who was in the car, was arrested.

Sama News Agency has revealed that the Palestinian who was shot dead is Anwar Alsalayma, from Shufaat refugee camp in Jerusalem, while Faris Al-Rishiq was injured and Mohammed Nassar was arrested.

No Palestinian source confirmed the Israeli claims. A video published last month has shown an Israeli soldier planting a knife next to the body of a dead Palestinian. Palestinians cast doubt of the Israeli narrative of stabbing and ramming attacks, accusing Israeli soldiers of carrying field executions against them.

Dozens of Palestinians have been shot dead since October 2015, after Israeli soldiers claimed they were attempting to carry out attack against them.
