Palestinian sources at Israeli prisons told the Palestinian Prisoners Radio the Israeli authorities have started installing wires to establish an audio-visual system to monitor Palestinian detainees.

The sources added that the Israeli Prison Service installs the system in prisoner’s rooms while they take their daily break outside.

The sources quoted one of the prisoners asking an Israeli prison official: “You might monitor our thoughts in our head one day?”  to which he received the reply: “We will be able to do so soon”.

The Israeli Minister of Internal Security, Gilad Ardan, has approved funds to buy four spying systems to be installed in various prisons as a first stage, according to the Second Hebrew Channel.
