Israeli Strikes Target Gaza, Injure 3

The Israeli military has targeted the Gaza Strip in a new round of aggression as fresh explosions were heard north and east of the besieged enclave.

The Israeli F-16 fighter jets launched three rocket attacks in the northeastern, eastern, and northern parts of the coastal sliver on Thursday, injuring at least three Palestinians and leaving ten others in a state of shock, a Press TV correspondent reported.

Israeli warplanes had struck three other targets in the east and west of the Gaza City earlier on the day.

The people of the blockaded enclave fear that Israel might step up its attacks on the Gaza Strip in the holy month of Ramadan as it has done since the beginning of the siege in 2007.

Also on Thursday, Israeli military aircrafts destroyed two tunnels running under the coastal sliver’s border with Egypt.

Many analysts believe that Israel needs no excuse to attack Gaza as the international media attention has been taken away from the strip and directed toward revolutions taking place in Libya, Yemen, Bahrain, and Egypt.

Israel launched an all-out military offensive on the Gaza Strip three days before the turn of 2009. The three-week war killed more than 1,400 Palestinians, most of them civilians, including many women and children.
