Israeli Warplanes Attack Gaza Strip

Israeli fighter jets have carried out three air strikes on the Gaza Strip overnight, but no casualties have been reported, Palestinian sources said.

Two of the strikes hit the city of Gaza and the third targeted a tunnel near the Egyptian border at Rafah, the witnesses said early Thursday, AFP reported.

Earlier on Wednesday, a massive explosion took place near a bus station in central al-Quds (Jerusalem), killing one person and wounding at least 30 others.

Palestinian group Islamic Jihad had vowed to attack cities in Israel following a deadly attack on Tuesday when an Israeli tank fired shots at a home in the Gaza Strip killing at least ten Palestinians, including four children, and injuring over 50 others,

Israel regularly carries out attacks on Gaza, killing and injuring Palestinians. Tel Aviv launched a deadly war on the coastal enclave at the turn of 2009.

Some 1.5 million people in the Gaza Strip are being denied their basic rights, including freedom of movement, and their rights to appropriate living conditions, work, health and education.
