Israelis Advised to Avoid Traveling to 40 Countries

Israel’s Counter-Terrorism Bureau has advised Jewish citizens of the state to avoid travelling to more than 40 countries, agencies reported on Wednesday.

According to the bureau, Israelis are already banned from going to some countries, such as Saudi Arabia and a number of other Arab states. “Any Israelis in those countries now are advised to leave immediately.” The global terrorist campaign by Iran and Hezbollah continues to threaten Israeli and Jewish targets around the world, it warned, especially tourists and Jewish symbols.

“There are high concrete threats regarding travel to Algeria, Djibouti, Mauritania and Tunisia, and basic concrete threats regarding travel to Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates,” the bureau continued.

Regarding other countries, such as Azerbaijan, Turkey, Morocco, Oman, Kenya and Nigeria, the counter-terrorism unit said that there are continuing potential threats regarding travel there. As such, it “recommends” that the Israeli public avoid non-essential visits to these countries. “A severe travel warning remains in effect for the Sinai Peninsula.”
