Jerusalemite Family Calls on EU to Intervene against Israeli Eviction Order

A Jerusalemite family has pleaded with the European Union to pressure Israeli authorities to end the process of expelling them from their home in the Old City.

Quds Press’s Jerusalem correspondent said that the Sub Laban family staged a protest in front of the headquarters of the EU headquarters, United Nations and US consulate. A petition was also handed to the EU ambassador, signed by 29,277 (correct as of 04/12/2015) people from all around the world calling on the international community to intervene and take steps to stop Israel from evicting the family from their home in Aqabat Al-Khalidiya in the Old City.

The family called for all means possible to be used, including imposing sanctions on Israel, to stop the process of forced displacement of Palestinians and to create a plan for fulfilling the needs of citizens who have already been displaced.

The house’s owner Noura Ghaith Sub Laban told Quds Press that the family organised the protest in an attempt to highlight the issue and to expose Israel’s Judaisation policies.
