The Palestinian Authority (PA) has closed 16 Palestinian NGOs, including charities, across the occupied West Bank, citing alleged law violations, Quds Press reported.

The PA said in a statement that the closure of these NGOs is based on law violations, which stipulate that any NGO which is not active in its first year after being licenced must be closed down unless its inactivity is caused by issues beyond its control.

In addition, the statement said that this measure comes as part of a series of future measures to be adopted by the General Administration.
