Report: Israeli Shot Outside Hebron Mosque

A Palestinian sniper shot and injured an Israeli national outside Hebron’s Ibrahimi Mosque in the occupied West Bank, Israeli media reported Monday.

Israel’s Ynet news site reported that the unnamed man sustained serious wounds in the shooting near a checkpoint to the mosque, which Jews refer to as the Cave of Patriarchs.

A helicopter evacuated him to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem, Ynet reported.

It said an “initial estimate” suggested he was shot by a Palestinian sniper.

An Israeli army spokeswoman did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
