The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Gaza Strip has announced a plan to distribute more than 2.7 M USD in donations to displaced Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

UNRWA will distribute the money next week to hundreds of Palestinian families who lost their houses including those who had their houses partially destroyed.

UNRWA said in a statement, it would distribute the money to 329 Palestinian families in the Gaza Strip, 2,290,904 USD of which will go to families whose houses were destroyed, and 416,500 USD of which will go to families whose houses sustained serious damages.

It also said that families could claim the money from local banks in Gaza next week.

The agency noted that emergency shelter is a priority for the agency in Gaza despite the lack of funds necessary to run this program.

The program includes paying rent for displaced families and providing financial support for families whose houses sustained damages.
