An Israeli military court has rejected an appeal from the Palestinian activist, Khader Adnan, to have his jail term reduced, according to one of his lawyers.
Lawyer Mahmoud Hassan said a military court judge ruled on Monday that his client Adnan, on hunger strike for 58 days, should remain in jail until May 8.
The deteriorating health condition of Palestinian activist Adnan has worried the Palestinian public.
Adnan, 33, began his hunger strike the day after he was arrested by Israeli forces on December 17, 2011. He has been held without trial ever since in what Israel calls “administrative detention."
Adnan was beaten by the Israeli occupation forces and sustained injuries when they raided his home outside the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank.
The Palestinian activist went on hunger strike to protest his detention as a violation of his rights as well as the ill-treatment he suffered at the hands of the soldiers and interrogators.
