PA Denies Meeting Israeli Officials Regarding Tensions in Al-Aqsa

Palestinian Authority (PA) Security Services spokesperson Adnan Al-Damiri yesterday denied that any meetings have taken place between PA security officers and their Israeli counterparts, QudsNet reported.

Israeli media had previously reported that PA security officials met with their Israeli counterparts and discussed the idea of having unarmed PA security officials entering Al-Aqsa Mosque to evacuate worshippers in case of tensions.

Al-Damiri said this was Israeli propaganda, noting such news proves the “uncertainty” of the Israeli government following the start of the current unrest.

He reiterated that protecting Al-Aqsa Mosque is a genuine Palestinian right and called for Israel not to evade pledges it made to the PA, noting that all the world has become acquainted with the Israeli crimes committed against Palestinian children because they defend Al-Aqsa Mosque.
