Jordanian politician Taher Almasri has refused ‘any attempt to politicize’ Jordan’s refusal to grant a permit to register a new society for Jerusalem affairs.

The refusal was granted by the officer in charge of Registered Associations in Jordan’s Social Development.

The decision was criticized by a number of political and social figures especially as Almasri was in charge of the former Council of Senators at a time when Jordan claimed to pay special attention to Jerusalem.

Almasri has issued a statement in which he affirmed his acceptance of the government’s decision not to grant a permit to the society.
