Israeli drone strikes targeted vehicles in south Lebanon and near the Lebanon-Syria border, leaving casualties and damage to nearby property, according to Lebanese media and field correspondents, in incidents described as part of ongoing violations of the November 2024 ceasefire.

Key Developments

  • Israeli drone strike hit two vehicles in Hanin, Bint Jbeil district Monday morning.
  • One person killed and several injured, with cars and nearby property burned.
  • Israeli army claimed it targeted a Hezbollah member involved in rebuilding infrastructure.
  • Separate overnight strike near Masnaa crossing killed four people inside a vehicle.
  • Attacks come amid repeated violations of the November 2024 cessation of hostilities.

Strike on Vehicles in Hanin

An Israeli drone launched a missile attack early Monday on two vehicles in the town of Hanin in the Bint Jbeil district of south Lebanon.

Lebanon’s National News Agency reported the raid occurred at approximately 7:00 AM, targeting a four-wheel-drive vehicle and a van, both of which caught fire after the strike. Injuries were reported at the scene.

Field reporting from south Lebanon confirmed heavier consequences. A correspondent cited by Al Mayadeen said the attack killed one person and wounded several others, while nearby property — including a residential home — sustained damage and a van was seen engulfed in flames.

The Israeli occupation army claimed the strike targeted a member of Hezbollah, alleging he was involved in “the reconstruction of military infrastructure in southern Lebanon.”

The incident forms part of ongoing attacks across southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley despite the cessation of hostilities declared on November 27, 2024.

Overnight Border Strike near Syria

In a separate incident Sunday night, an Israeli drone strike targeted a vehicle near the Lebanon-Syria border between the Masnaa crossing and Jdeidet Yabous.

According to Lebanese media, four powerful explosions were heard across nearby villages. Civil defense teams extinguished the blaze and later recovered the bodies of four people from inside the car.

The attack marked a further escalation along the frontier area, where repeated strikes have targeted vehicles and positions in border regions.

The strikes occur amid continued Israeli violations of the November 2024 ceasefire agreement. Reports indicate hundreds of casualties since the truce took effect, while Israeli forces remain present on several Lebanese hills captured during the last war.

The broader Israeli war on Lebanon, which began in October 2023 and expanded into full-scale conflict in September 2024, killed more than 4,000 people and injured roughly 17,000 before a ceasefire halted major hostilities.

  1. Why do they bother with pretexts? Zionists want to kill Lebanese – that’s all. US want to kill Venezuelans – that’s all. So “the member of Hezbollah, alleging he was involved in “the reconstruction of military infrastructure in southern Lebanon.” or “drug running” is just a lame effort at justification. Why bother? Cover your ass? Cling to shreds of relevance? They are all both pariah.
