Abu Obeida Praises Operation
Abu Obeida, the military spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, praised the operation carried out in the settlement of Kochav Yair, describing it as evidence of the continuing determination of Palestinians to confront Israeli occupation.
In a statement released on Sunday, Abu Obeida congratulated those responsible for the attack and linked it to the broader confrontation between Palestinians and Israeli occupation forces.
“We bless the heroic operation in the Kochav Yair settlement, carried out by one of our people’s mujahideen from within the occupied territories,” he said.
He added that the operation came as a response to Israeli actions against Palestinians.
“The operation came in self-defense and in response to the aggression of the occupation and its settlers,” Abu Obeida stated.
Call for Escalation
The Al-Qassam spokesman used the occasion to issue a broader appeal for increased resistance activities.
“We look with pride at the confrontation of our people’s sons with the hordes of occupiers in various areas of the occupied West Bank,” he said.
Abu Obeida called on Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem, the occupied West Bank and the territories occupied in 1948 to become more actively involved in the confrontation.
“We call on our youth in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the interior to take their role in the Al-Aqsa Flood battle.”
He further urged Palestinians to intensify their activities against Israeli forces and settlers.
“We call on them to escalate their operations to make the Zionists pay the price for their crimes,” he said.

Complex Operation
The statement followed a shooting operation carried out earlier on Sunday in and around Kochav Yair, north of Qalqilya.
Israeli media reported that one Israeli was killed and six others were wounded, some seriously.
According to Israeli reports, the shooting occurred at multiple locations, including Kochav Yair, Tzur Yitzhak, Tzur Natan and Sal’it.
The attack prompted a major Israeli military response involving army forces, police units, helicopters and special operations teams.
Israeli police announced that one alleged attacker was killed while another suspect was arrested.
Later reports in Israeli media suggested that both alleged attackers had been killed.
One of the individuals reportedly involved was identified by Israeli media as a Palestinian from the city of Taybeh inside the territories occupied in 1948.

Resistance Groups React
Abu Obeida’s remarks came amid a wave of statements from Palestinian resistance factions praising the operation.
Hamas described the attack as a response to continued settlement expansion, military raids and killings across the occupied Palestinian territories.
Other Palestinian groups, including Islamic Jihad and the Popular Resistance Committees, similarly characterized the operation as a response to the Israeli genocide in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
The operation also came amid continuing Israeli military incursions, settler violence and ongoing attacks on Gaza, where Palestinians continue to face bombardment, displacement and a worsening humanitarian crisis.
