The Al-Quds Brigades released footage of a sniper attack on an Israeli soldier, announced the capture of a drone, and reported mortar strikes on Israeli forces, while media confirmed casualties and a destroyed tank.
The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, released footage on Thursday showing the sniping of an Israeli occupation soldier west of Gaza City, while Israeli media simultaneously reported what they described as a “security incident.”
The video showed the soldier positioned on the roof of a Palestinian home in the Shati refugee camp, adjacent to a surveillance and camera system, before being struck by a sniper’s bullet and collapsing immediately.
In a separate statement, the Al-Quds Brigades said its fighters had seized an Israeli drone conducting reconnaissance missions in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood of southern Gaza City. The group also reported targeting a concentration of Israeli soldiers and their vehicles in the same area with mortar fire.

Israeli media, meanwhile, acknowledged a “security incident” in Gaza that left several Israeli soldiers wounded, some of whom were evacuated to the hospital by helicopter.
Reports also indicated that an Israeli tank belonging to the 53rd Battalion was destroyed by an explosive device.
On September 21, the Israeli army announced it was expanding ground operations in Gaza City under a plan, approved on August 11, to gradually occupy the Strip. That campaign, launched on October 27, 2023, included incursions on multiple fronts.
Since then, Palestinian resistance factions have documented numerous operations against Israeli forces and vehicles, carrying out ambushes, destroying or disabling hundreds of military vehicles, and launching rocket fire at Israeli cities and settlements.
