Death tolls in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran reveal the scale of an expanding war and its growing civilian cost.

As Israel’s military operations expand across multiple fronts, the cumulative human toll is becoming increasingly difficult to capture in a single frame.

What began with the genocide in Gaza has evolved into a wider regional war, now encompassing Lebanon and Iran, each with its own trajectory, escalation patterns, and casualty figures.

While the dynamics differ across these fronts, the numbers provide a measurable way to understand the scale of the violence.

From the ongoing genocide in Gaza to the wider war against Lebanon and direct aggression against Iran, the question remains: how many people have been killed so far?

Gaza — Ongoing Genocide

Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, which began in October 2023, has continued to produce high casualties even during periods officially described as ‘ceasefires’.

A ceasefire that took effect on October 10, 2025, has been repeatedly violated by Israel, with ongoing shelling, shootings, and demolition operations reported across the Strip.

The latest casualties were reported on Saturday, April 4, when a Palestinian woman died from wounds sustained in a previous Israeli attack.

According to Gaza health authorities and medical sources:

• Total killed since October 2023: more than 72,000
• Total wounded: over 172,000
• Killed since the October 2025 ceasefire: 713
• Injured since the ceasefire: 1,940

Many studies, including several published in the medical journal The Lancet, have estimated the death toll to be significantly higher.

Additionally, up to 14,000 people remain missing, with no clear breakdown of their whereabouts; some are believed to be buried under the rubble across much of Gaza, while others are thought to be held in Israeli prisons.

Lebanon — Ceasefire in Name Only

A ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah took effect in November 2024, but Israeli military hostilities did not fully cease.

Israeli violations were reported on a near-daily basis, numbering in the thousands over time, contributing to sustained instability along the border.

A new phase of escalation began on March 2, 2026, with Israeli airstrikes and ground operations in southern Lebanon.

Since then, casualties have risen sharply across multiple regions, with most concentrated in the south.

On Saturday, April 4 alone, at least 11 people were killed in a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting residential areas and roads in southern Lebanon, according to the country’s National News Agency.

According to the Lebanese Health Ministry and official sources:

Total killed since March 2, 2026: 1,422

• Total wounded: 4,294
• Killed in the past 24 hours: 54
• injured in the past 24 hours: 156
• Additional reported deaths (April 4 strikes): 11
• Displaced: Over 1 million people

Iran — Israeli-US War

The regional war entered a new phase on February 28, 2026, when a joint US-Israeli strike targeted Iran, marking the beginning of a new phase in Israeli-led wars.

Since then, Israeli and US airstrikes have continued to hit multiple locations across the country, including industrial, military, and civilian infrastructure sites, as hostilities intensified over the following weeks.

Iranian authorities have since issued updated casualty figures as the war entered its sixth week.

On Saturday, April 4, continued strikes were reported across several areas, including sites linked to Iran’s energy and industrial sectors, according to Iranian media.

According to Iran’s Health Ministry (April 4, 2026):

• Total killed since February 28: 2,076
• Total wounded: 26,500.
