‘Harsh Response’

Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters warned on Tuesday that continued Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon could trigger a “harsh response,” accusing Israeli forces of violating the ceasefire 84 times during the past two days.

In a statement carried by Iranian media, the military command said Israeli operations had continued despite US President Donald Trump’s announcement that the war had come to an end.

“The Zionist regime’s army violated the ceasefire in southern Lebanon 84 times over the past two days after the US president announced the end of the war,” the statement said.

It accused Israeli occupation forces of continuing attacks that have caused casualties among Lebanese civilians.

“If the child-killing Zionist army does not stop its aggression in southern Lebanon, it should expect a harsh response from Iran’s powerful armed forces,” the statement added.

Lebanon Central to the Agreement

The warning comes amid growing disputes over the implementation of the memorandum of understanding reached between Tehran and Washington.

Iranian officials have repeatedly stressed that ending Israeli military operations in Lebanon is one of the central components of the agreement.

Earlier on Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the Iranian and Lebanese fronts remain interconnected and that the war cannot end without an Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory.

He also warned that any Israeli military attack on Lebanon from this point forward would constitute a violation of the memorandum of understanding.

Araghchi has argued that the agreement effectively links developments in Iran and Lebanon, making de-escalation on both fronts inseparable.

Ghalibaf and Berri Demand Action

Separately, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri discussed the implementation of the US-Iran memorandum and the situation in Lebanon during a phone call on Tuesday.

According to statements released following the conversation, the two officials stressed that the United States, the guarantors of the memorandum and the international community bear responsibility for ensuring that Israel ends its military operations in Lebanon, ceases the destruction of villages, respects Lebanese sovereignty and withdraws from occupied Lebanese territory.

The call focused in particular on the provision of the agreement dealing with an end to Israeli attacks on Lebanon, as both sides emphasized the need for immediate enforcement of the understanding amid continuing Israeli strikes in the country’s south.

Attacks Continue

Israeli attacks continued throughout southern Lebanon on Tuesday.

According to Lebanese media reports, artillery shelling struck areas stretching from the Ali al-Taher heights to Iqlim al-Tuffah and Jezzine.

Drone strikes were also reported across several villages in Nabatieh district.

Earlier in the day, Israeli drone attacks on the towns of Meifdoun and Choukine killed four people and wounded several others.

Lebanese media said some of the attacks appeared aimed at preventing residents from returning to their villages.
