‘Only Way to Liberate the Land’
Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem said on Saturday that resistance remained the only means of confronting hegemonic powers and Israel and liberating occupied territory.
Qassem made the remarks during the Martyr of Resistance Conference marking the 55th anniversary of the founding of the Imamia Students Organization in Pakistan. “Resistance is the only way to liberate the land,” Qassem said.
He pointed to Lebanon’s experience with resistance, saying it had demonstrated its ability to secure liberation and strengthen the Palestinian cause.
Lebanon had “tested this resistance and found that it liberates the land, the human being, and forces the Israeli enemy to leave humiliated and compelled to withdraw, while also restoring vitality and potential to the Palestinian cause,” Qassem said.

Palestine a ‘Central Issue’
The Hezbollah leader reaffirmed the centrality of the Palestinian cause, arguing that resistance could take different forms depending on circumstances and capabilities.
“Resistance means rejecting the enemy and fighting when we are capable of fighting, each according to their position and role,” he said.
Qassem also urged young people to pursue Islamic unity alongside resistance, saying efforts toward unity “must continue, as must the resistance.”
“We are people of right, and owners of the land, and we must resist no matter how great the sacrifices are, and victory will come, God willing,” he added.
Iran ‘Prevented Them from Achieving Their Objectives’
Turning to the ongoing US-Israeli war against Iran, Qassem said its objective had been to overthrow the Iranian political system but that Tehran had successfully confronted the attack.

“The attack on the Islamic Republic was aimed at overthrowing the regime, but it confronted the challenge,” he said.
Qassem described Iran’s ability to withstand the war and prevent its adversaries from achieving their stated objectives as a victory.
“Even if it takes a long time, Iran has won, and even if it takes days or months for us, we are victorious because we stood firm and prevented them from achieving their objectives,” he said.
He argued that continued steadfastness would eventually expose weaknesses among Hezbollah and Iran’s adversaries.
“Gradually, cracks must emerge, and the enemy will fall on the material level, and with determination and steadfastness alongside our people, we can reach the desired outcome,” Qassem said.
