IRGC Announces Strike on US Air Base in Jordan

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Thursday that its Aerospace Force carried out a ballistic missile strike against Azraq Air Base in Jordan, saying the operation targeted US military aircraft stationed at the facility.

According to a statement issued by the IRGC’s Public Relations Department, the attack was launched in response to American strikes earlier in the day that targeted residential homes on Qeshm Island in southern Iran.

“We will punish the aggressor today,” the statement said.

Three F-35s ‘Destroyed’

The IRGC said its missiles struck the aircraft parking area and maintenance hangars used by US forces at Azraq Air Base.

According to the statement, the attack destroyed three US F-35 fighter jets and inflicted heavy damage on three additional aircraft.

The Revolutionary Guard also said that “several enemy officers, along with technical and maintenance personnel,” were killed in the strike.

“There is no place in our region for an army that kills children and brutally massacres innocent families in their sleep in the middle of the night,” the statement added.

Iran Responded to Attack on Qeshm

The IRGC said the operation was carried out after US forces allegedly used bases in Jordan to launch bunker-buster bombs against two residential homes on Qeshm Island.

According to the statement, the attack killed a father, a mother, and one of their children, while two other children were injured.

Earlier, Iranian officials reported that American strikes targeted multiple locations across Hormozgan Province, including residential areas on Qeshm Island, where search and rescue teams were deployed following the attacks.

IRGC Addresses Jordanians

The Revolutionary Guard also addressed the people of Jordan, saying public support and the positions of some Jordanian political and social figures had increased pressure on the United States.

“Our struggle, alongside yours, will continue until the last American occupier is expelled from Islamic lands,” the statement said.

The statement concluded with the Quranic verse: “If you support Allah, He will support you and make your feet firm.”

Intelligence-Led Operation

Earlier on Thursday, Iranian state television reported that previous missile strikes targeting the Muwaffaq al-Salti Air Base in Jordan were carried out using intelligence gathered by the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters following the deployment of additional US A-10 attack aircraft and F-15 fighter jets to the base.

Iranian media said the IRGC Aerospace Force had conducted a “surprise operation” that destroyed its designated targets and asserted that US military movements throughout the region remain under constant surveillance.

State television also said the IRGC had achieved “missile superiority” over US positions in Jordan by targeting American surveillance and early-warning radar systems.

The strike came after the United States resumed military operations against Iran following a five-day pause.

US forces launched a new wave of attacks across southern Iran, targeting locations in Hormozgan, Khuzestan, and Bushehr provinces, according to Iranian officials.
