Israeli forces launched new airstrikes and carried out demolitions across Gaza on Thursday, as humanitarian agencies warned that severe restrictions continue to obstruct relief efforts amid ongoing ceasefire violations.

The town of Beit Lahia, along with Gaza City and Khan Yunis, came under Israeli air raids on Thursday morning, Al-Jazeera reported.

According to an Al-Jazeera correspondent, the Israeli army conducted a demolition operation targeting buildings in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City.

Palestinian media sources said that an Israeli airstrike struck the area surrounding the Ahmed Al-Shuqairi School in Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza, at dawn today.

Since the ceasefire agreement took effect on October 10, Israeli occupation forces have carried out widespread violations across several areas of the Gaza Strip, killing at least 242 Palestinians and injuring hundreds more.

These violations include bombing areas from which the army withdrew under the terms of the ceasefire, as well as demolishing residential buildings.

Al-Jazeera’s correspondent also reported that the search for the bodies of Israeli prisoners east of the Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City has ended for the day and will resume on Thursday.

A joint operation involving a team from the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Qassam Brigades, supported by engineering vehicles, began this morning to search for the body of an Israeli prisoner inside the yellow zone in Zaytoun, east of Gaza City.

Humanitarian Situation

On the humanitarian front, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) confirmed that the humanitarian response in the Gaza Strip is expanding, despite persistent restrictions.

The office stressed in a statement that these obstacles must be removed to enable the rapid scale-up needed to meet Gaza’s immense needs.

OCHA added that the Zikim crossing in northern Gaza will be reopened for humanitarian shipments, noting that in recent weeks the United Nations repaired the road leading to the crossing inside Gaza in preparation for its reactivation.

It pointed out that the crossing has been closed for two months, during which no supplies entered Gaza directly from the north. Humanitarian partners also warn that, due to ongoing customs delays and other logistical barriers affecting food parcel distribution, quantities are being adjusted to stretch existing stocks.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has continued to commit genocide in the Gaza Strip, killing more than 69,000 Palestinians and wounding more than 170,000 others—most of them women and children, alongside the destruction of approximately 90% of the enclave’s civilian infrastructure.
