Israeli trucks are reportedly crossing the border to unload waste and construction debris just meters inside Gaza, sparking outrage.
According to an investigation by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, the Israeli army has been dumping vast quantities of waste, rubble, and construction debris inside the Gaza Strip, only a few hundred meters from the border.
Footage published by Haaretz shows trucks crossing from Israel into Gaza through the Kissufim crossing, loaded with construction waste. The vehicles reportedly drive 200 to 300 meters into the Strip, unload their cargo along the roadside, and return empty to Israel, only to be refilled and sent again.
On the Israeli side, excavators can be seen reloading the same waste onto the trucks.
According to the report, the debris includes construction material, metal scraps, irrigation pipes, and other refuse left behind by the Israeli military following the establishment of dozens of bases and command posts near the border during the genocidal war on Gaza.

Several Israeli army officers told Haaretz that field commanders had decided to dispose of the waste inside Gaza and even allowed privately owned Israeli trucks to dump their loads wherever they deemed appropriate.
“We’ll have mountains of garbage right in front of our homes for the rest of our lives, inside Gaza,” one Israeli soldier stationed near the border told Haaretz. “What’s the logic in taking thousands of tons of waste and dumping it just a few hundred meters from our houses?”
Another officer criticized the practice, saying that dumping waste filled with iron and concrete “is disgraceful” and could ultimately benefit Hamas, which might reuse the materials.
According to one of the soldiers interviewed, commanders justified the move by claiming that “foreign countries will soon enter Gaza to begin reconstruction,” and would therefore handle the waste left behind by the Israeli army.
The Israeli military claimed it was unaware of the actions described in the report.
