Israeli occupation forces injured 25 Palestinians during a raid on the northern West Bank city of Nablus early on Wednesday as part of wide-scale incursions into several areas of the occupied territory.

The siege on the Old City of Nablus continued for nine hours, with one Palestinian detained and the forced evacuation of several families from their homes, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

The army stormed the town with dozens of military vehicles, with troops spreading across neighborhoods and tightening the siege around the Old City, the report stated. Several homes in the al-Qasaba quarter were raided, and residents were forced to leave with soldiers instructing them not to return until later in the day.

Live Gunfire, Teargas Deployed

According to the Anadolu news agency, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said in a statement that its teams treated 25 people who suffered from tear gas inhalation during ongoing clashes in Nablus.

One person was transferred to the hospital, while the rest were treated on the spot, according to the statement.

Witnesses said clashes erupted between dozens of Palestinians and Israeli army forces around the Old City of Nablus, where youths pelted the army with stones. The army responded with live fire, rubber-coated bullets, and tear gas canisters to disperse protesters, the report stated.

In the southeastern town of Tammun, near Tubas, Israeli forces moved in with several military patrols overnight, spreading across multiple neighborhoods and deploying an infantry unit on the town’s outskirts, Al Mayadeen reported.

Masaffer Yatta

Meanwhile, illegal Israeli settlers established a new settlement outpost and expanded several existing outposts, in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron (al-Khalil), WAFA reported, citing local sources.

Activist Osama Makhamreh told WAFA that the settlers set up four caravans on Palestinian lands, east of Khirbet Umm al-Khair. They also continued extensive land leveling and excavation work around the village, which has become surrounded by multiple outposts, the report stated.

At the same time, settlers expanded an outpost built on Palestinian land in the Al-Batma area near Khallet al-Daba’, where construction of several new units is ongoing.

In Sha’b al-Batma, settlers expanded the so-called Mitzpe Yair colony, built on Palestinian land, by adding several caravans, the report noted.

According to the Quds News Network (QNN), several Palestinian farmers and international activists were injured following an Israeli settler attack in the Qawawis area of Masafer Yatta on Tuesday.

Settlement Outposts’ Expansion

Six large outposts have been established on Palestinian lands in Masafer Yatta, in addition to the establishment of more than 20 outposts spread across vast areas of land, most of which were established after 2021, the report stated. Settlement activity has increased significantly since the aggression on the Gaza Strip began on October 7, 2023.

On Tuesday, the Israeli army withdrew from the central West Bank city of Ramallah after an hours-long raid that left 58 Palestinians injured and three others detained, according to medical sources cited by Anadolu.
