PALESTINE CHRONICLE: The Israeli army is “struggling” to find enough reservists to report for duty, with many questioning the purpose of the ongoing military operation in Gaza, according to the Wall Street Journal.

This comes as Israel seeks to call up 60,000 reservists for the army’s new offensive on Gaza City, employing “unusual methods to find enough men,” the report stated.

ISRAELI MEDIA: The Israeli Broadcasting Authority said the cost of occupying Gaza City could reach $7.4 billion.

Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir confronted Netanyahu directly in a recent meeting on plans to expand the Gaza war.

Zamir opposed the decision to launch a large-scale assault on Gaza in two Cabinet meetings.

ISRAELI MEDIA: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will visit Israel in 12 days.

HAARETZ:

Haaretz reported that Netanyahu insisted on moving Sunday’s Cabinet meeting to a secret fortified bunker despite Shin Bet seeing no need for it.

Netanyahu’s office justified the move by citing increased threats from the Houthis after the assassination of their officials.

Sources close to Netanyahu linked his insistence to his expected testimony in his ongoing trial.

GAZA GOVERNMENT MEDIA OFFICE:

Ismail Thawabteh, head of the Government Media Office in Gaza, told Al Jazeera Net:

Time is running out, and the likelihood of mass deaths is increasing.

Israel pursues a deliberate starvation policy by blocking food, obstructing aid, destroying markets and supply stores, and ensuring aid does not reach those in need.

Famine is not limited to Gaza City—indicators show all parts of the Strip face catastrophic conditions heading quickly toward food system collapse.

ANSARALLAH MILITARY SPOKESMAN:

We attacked the Israeli General Staff headquarters, Lod Airport, and Ashdod Port with four drones.

We attacked Israel’s electric company in Hadera with another drone.

ISRAELI MEDIA: The “Soldiers for the Prisoners” movement in Israel said at a press conference in Tel Aviv that they will not comply with military service because it would lead to the captives’ deaths and serves only the government.

HAMAS STATEMENT: Hamas said Israel continues the systematic destruction of Gaza’s neighborhoods as part of a genocidal campaign and criminal ethnic cleansing. It said Netanyahu’s government is waging an open war on innocent civilians, especially in Gaza City, adding that Israel’s actions are war crimes requiring immediate Security Council intervention to impose an end to the genocide and hold those responsible to account.

The Wall Street Journal reported that a group of Israeli reservists said they stopped serving for reasons including immoral conduct against Palestinians.

Interviews with more than 30 Israeli officers and soldiers revealed that “Hamas cannot be eliminated due to its guerrilla warfare tactics.”

They said soldiers are exhausted after nearly two years of fighting, and many are questioning the war’s purpose.

Residential blocks are being demolished at an accelerating pace to destroy Gaza City and displace its residents.
