White House: Trump Pressing to End Gaza War

FOX NEWS:

White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt told Fox News that President Trump wants to see an end to the killing in Gaza and the release of all captives. She said they hope to finalize the Gaza peace plan today despite a busy agenda.

Leavitt added that Trump has worked with his “excellent team” to resolve the chaos left by the Biden administration. She noted that Trump met Arab allies and partners in New York to listen to them and understand their concerns, and that the US administration has been in direct and indirect talks with Hamas throughout the process.

According to Leavitt, Trump remains in constant contact with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. She said both Hamas and Israel will need to make concessions and might leave negotiations somewhat dissatisfied, but that compromise is the way to finally end this conflict. She emphasized that the Gaza war must end through negotiation.

She also stated that Trump would speak with Qatar, which has played a distinguished mediating role between Washington and Hamas. “We hope Hamas and Israel will agree on a plan to end the war, and this is what the president expects and hopes for,” she concluded.
