Key Takeaways

  • Six members of the Al-Masri family, including four children, were killed in an Israeli strike on Gaza City.
  • Palestinian resistance factions said Israel continues committing massacres despite ceasefire efforts.
  • The factions called for urgent international action to protect civilians and halt Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

Resistance Condemns Continued Israeli Attacks

Palestinian resistance factions said on Tuesday that Israel continues to commit massacres against Palestinians as part of its ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip, citing the killing of the entire al-Masri family and the targeting of the Yemen Al-Saeed Hospital in northern Gaza.

In a joint statement, the factions said the attack that wiped out the al-Masri family, most of whose members were children, together with the strike on the hospital, demonstrated the continuation of what they described as brutal Israeli crimes despite ongoing efforts to reach a ceasefire.

They warned that the attacks on the al-Masri and Nasman families marked a dangerous escalation requiring urgent international intervention.

The factions called for the protection of civilians, accountability for those responsible under international humanitarian law, an end to Israel’s genocide in Gaza, and the implementation of ceasefire understandings.

They also urged mediators and international guarantors to intensify efforts to stop the attacks, meet Gaza’s urgent humanitarian needs, and ensure civilian protection.

Entire Family Killed in Gaza City

The statement came hours after an Israeli airstrike targeted a residential apartment belonging to the al-Masri family in the Al-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City.

According to local sources, Israeli warplanes fired three missiles at the apartment opposite the Chamber of Commerce on Thalatini Street before dawn on Tuesday.

The attack killed six members of the family: father Firas Ahmed Al-Masri, mother Salsabeel Mohammad al-Masri, and their four children—Naeem, Ferial, Salma and Amira.

Their bodies were transported to Al-Shifa Hospital, where images of the victims quickly spread across social media.

‘An Entire Family Disappeared’

Palestinian journalists and activists described the strike as another example of entire families being erased during Israel’s assault on Gaza.

One widely shared account said the bombing had “ended the lives of father Firas al-Masri, his wife and their four children,” adding that “an entire family disappeared in an instant.”

Another described how “no one was injured—they were all killed,” while others recounted that the mother and her four children were recovered from beneath the rubble as charred bodies.

The massacre has revived memories of numerous previous attacks in which Israeli strikes on residential homes eliminated entire Palestinian families from the civil registry.

Human rights advocates have repeatedly warned that attacks on densely populated residential buildings and the use of highly destructive munitions have resulted in mass civilian casualties, while rescue teams often struggle for hours to recover victims trapped beneath the rubble.

Death Toll Continues to Rise

The al-Masri family massacre comes amid continued Israeli attacks on homes, displacement tents, and shelters across the Gaza Strip.

Mother, Four Children among Nine Palestinians Killed in Latest Israeli Attacks on Gaza

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, hospitals across the enclave received 10 Palestinians killed during the previous 24 hours—including nine newly killed and one who later succumbed to wounds—as well as 42 injured people.

The ministry said many victims remain trapped beneath the rubble or lying in the streets because ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them under continued Israeli bombardment.

It added that 1,168 Palestinians have been killed and 3,798 wounded since Israel resumed its offensive following the collapse of the ceasefire on October 11. Authorities have also recovered 802 bodies during that period.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s genocide in Gaza has killed 73,293 Palestinians and wounded 173,906 others, according to official Palestinian figures.
