A Palestinian teenager died from wounds inflicted by Israeli occupation forces as raids, arrests, and settler attacks continued across the occupied West Bank.

Key Developments

  • Seventeen-year-old Fadi Hamdallah al-Naasan died a week after being shot by Israeli forces in al-Mughayyir.
  • Israeli occupation forces sealed the village before his funeral and fired tear gas toward a local school.
  • Raids and arrests were reported across Ramallah, Jenin, Bethlehem, Tulkarm, Nablus, and Hebron (Al-Khalil).
  • Israeli occupation forces also prevented the dawn call to prayer at a mosque west of Bethlehem.

Killed a Week after Shooting

A 17-year-old Palestinian died early Saturday from wounds sustained during an Israeli military and settler attack on the village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, as Israeli forces intensified raids, arrests, and restrictions across the occupied West Bank.

Medical and local sources said Fadi Hamdallah al-Naasan succumbed to injuries after being shot in the thigh with live ammunition by Israeli forces on July 11.

According to local accounts, Israeli forces and settlers attacked al-Mughayyir during a raid targeting the home of Mohammad Hamid Abu Aliya.

Al-Naasan was critically wounded by live fire, while several other Palestinians were injured by rubber-coated metal bullets.

During the same attack, 10-year-old Raed Ouda Abu Aliya sustained a head injury after being struck by a sound grenade.

Residents say al-Mughayyir and neighboring communities have faced repeated attacks by Israeli settlers alongside frequent military incursions.

Village Sealed before Funeral

On Saturday, Israeli occupation forces sealed the western entrance to al-Mughayyir ahead of al-Naasan’s funeral procession.

Local sources cited by Al Mayadeen said troops blocked the only remaining access road into the village, preventing residents from entering or leaving. The eastern entrance has remained closed by Israeli forces for the past four years.

Israeli soldiers also fired tear gas canisters toward the al-Mughayyir Boys’ School, sparking a fire in the schoolyard.

Raids across the Occupied West Bank

Israeli occupation forces carried out a broad campaign of raids and arrests across several areas of the occupied West Bank overnight.

In Jenin Governorate, troops raided the towns of Ya’bad and Meithalun.

In Bethlehem Governorate, Israeli forces entered several communities and seized a vehicle during a raid on Tuqu’.

In Ramallah Governorate, residents of Kafr Ni’ma were reportedly assaulted during an Israeli raid, leaving several Palestinians injured. Israeli troops also entered al-Mughayyir again following the death of al-Naasan.

Large military forces also stormed Deir al-Ghusun, north of Tulkarm, while Israeli settlers entered the Jabal Bir Quza area near Beita, south of Nablus.

In Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, Israeli occupation forces arrested Ibrahim al-Jabour and his son Anas after raiding their home.

Restrictions on Worship Continue

In a separate incident, Israeli occupation forces prevented the dawn call to prayer in the village of Husan, west of Bethlehem.

According to local reports, soldiers forced worshippers to leave a mosque before firing sound grenades and tear gas toward them.

The incident comes amid broader Israeli efforts to restrict the use of mosque loudspeakers. Earlier this month, the Israeli Knesset advanced legislation that would impose tighter controls on the call to prayer in occupied Palestine.

According to Palestinian official figures, Israeli occupation forces have killed 1,200 Palestinians and injured approximately 12,600 others in the occupied West Bank since the start of the genocide in Gaza in October 2023. During the same period, Israeli forces have carried out around 24,000 detention operations across the territory.

Palestinian and UN reports also indicate widespread destruction in refugee camps, including the demolition of 55 percent of Jenin refugee camp and 40 percent of buildings in the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps, displacing tens of thousands of Palestinians in what the United Nations has described as the largest forced displacement in the occupied West Bank since 1967.
