“Silencing those who speak this truth is not just censorship – it’s complicity.”
British musician Paul Weller is suing his former accounting firm after cutting ties with him over his assertions that Israel was committing genocide in Gaza, according to reports.
In a WhatsApp message from a partner at Harris and Trotter, Weller was reportedly told that “It’s well known what your political views are in relation to Israel, the Palestinians and Gaza, but we as a firm are offended at the assertions that Israel is committing any type of genocide.”

This is according to a pre-action letter seen by the PA news agency, the Independent reported on Wednesday, in which Weller’s lawyers said he was advised in March that the firm would no longer work with him or his companies.
The message reportedly added that “Everyone is entitled to their own views, but you are alleging such anti-Israel views that we as a firm with Jewish roots and many Jewish partners are not prepared to work with someone who holds these views.”

The Times of Israel reported that Ronnie Harris, a founding partner of the firm, is “a senior member” of the UK Jewish Leadership Council.
Unlawful Discrimination
Weller’s lawyers claim that the firm has unlawfully discriminated against the singer’s philosophical beliefs, the report added, over Israel’s ongoing genocidal assault on Gaza that has resulted in the killing of over 61,000 Palestinians since October 2023.

The musician stressed that he has “always spoken out against injustice, whether it’s apartheid, ethnic cleansing, or genocide,” adding that what is happening to the Palestinian people in Gaza “is a humanitarian catastrophe.”
“I believe they have the right to self-determination, dignity, and protection under international law, and I believe Israel is committing genocide against them. That must be called out,” he stated.
‘Silencing is Complicity’
Weller emphasized, “Silencing those who speak this truth is not just censorship – it’s complicity.”
He explained that he was taking legal action “not just for myself, but to help ensure that others are not similarly punished for expressing their beliefs about the rights of the Palestinian people.”
The report quoted Cormac McDonough, one of the lawyers at the firm representing Weller, that his case “reflects a wider pattern of attempts to silence artists and public figures who speak out in support of Palestinian rights”.

This was particularly so within the music industry, McDonough added, as “we are seeing increasing efforts to marginalise those who express solidarity with the people of Gaza.”
The legal letter also reportedly noted that Weller, a former frontman of The Jam, will donate any damages he receives to humanitarian relief efforts in Gaza.
Staggering Death Toll
Since reneging on the ceasefire on March 18, Israel has continued its bloody aerial bombardment across the Gaza Strip, killing and wounding thousands of Palestinians.
Starting on October 7, 2023, the Israeli military, with American support, launched a genocidal war against the people of Gaza. This campaign has so far resulted in the deaths of more than 61,000 Palestinians, with more than 155,000 wounded. The vast majority of the population has been displaced, and the destruction of infrastructure is unprecedented since World War II. Thousands of people are still missing.
In addition to the military assault, the Israeli blockade has caused a man-made famine, leading to the deaths of hundreds of Palestinians—mostly children—with hundreds of thousands more at risk.
Despite widespread international condemnation, little has been done to hold Israel accountable. The nation is currently under investigation for genocide by the International Court of Justice, while accused war criminals, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, are officially wanted by the International Criminal Court.

Not a genocide muffin. If Israel wanted genocide, it would have been over in one afternoon. They have rhe capability.
No less a genocide than the Shoah.
Was the Holocaust over in one afternoon, one day, one week, one month, or even one year?
Yes, because the Nazis killed all the Jews on one day in 1942.
If they had the capability, why have they spent the last 22 months begging all the NATO countries for more money and more weapons?
This is proof that we need to keep calling out the Israeli Nazi Jews for what they’ve done. If we’re afraid to speak the truth for fear of being labeled antisemite, nothing will be done to fix the problem. It’s only a word, and it’s meaningless, baseless, impotent. The Israeli Jews are the problem, anyone can see that. When was the last time Hamas, or Hezbollah shot a child?? never. that’s when. The Jewish Nazis shoot children all the time. Who’s the terrorist?
I lived in Beirut, Lebanon in 1982. I fully understand why some people call Israelis nazis. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it may well be a duck. The Israelis believe they are the Jewish Supermen and that their bloody god demands the death of all non-jewish people who live on god given land. In a very simple manner, this really is the reason for all this death. Of course, most Zionists don’t believe in god, but find the religious argument most useful.
