Hamas: Easing Gaza Siege Israeli Trick

Hamas says Israel’s decision to ease the Gaza blockade is a trick to deceive the international community, so that it can continue its siege of the impoverished sliver.

"This is a new trick aiming at enhancing the siege’s image and securing its continuation instead of lifting and ending it," Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri told Xinhua on Thursday.

Instead of a partial ease of the blockade, the people of Gaza "need the siege to be completely lifted, all crossing points open and securing the movement of all people and goods, mainly raw materials, instead of increasing the amount of goods," he added.
Meanwhile, Ismail Radwan, another senior Hamas official told AFP that Israel is trying “to obscure the international decision to completely lift the siege on the Gaza Strip."

Israel endeavors to relieve the mounting international pressure and continue the blockade, he added.

On Thursday, the Israeli security cabinet announced plans to ease its land blockade on the Gaza Strip.

The decision came in response to international outrage at Israel’s deadly attack on a Gaza-bound aid convoy last month which intended to break the three-year siege.

The bloody onslaught killed 9 international activists onboard the Flotilla and left 50 others injured.
