The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has hailed UNESCO’s resolution on Alqsa Mosque Compound, including the Buraq Wall, which considered it of a Muslim ownership, as ‘a political victory for the Palestinian cause.’

Spokesperson for the Hamas movement Sami Abu Zuhri described the resolution in a press statement he issued on Friday as, “a political victory for the Palestinian cause and it strengthens our religious and national right to Al-Aqsa Mosque, and it debunks the Israeli narrative, which was based on the claimed Temple Mount.”

Abu Zuhri expressed Hamas’ appreciation to UNESCO and to all member states that voted in favor of the resolution, calling for taking more similar steps to “bring justice to the Palestinian people.”
