Israeli occupation forces launched a campaign of raids and arrests across various West Bank cities on Wednesday, with approximately 1,300 Palestinians being detained in Tulkarm alone over two days. This forms part of the occupation’s policy of collective punishment.
Occupation forces raided the city of Qalqilya several times during the night and arrested a number of Palestinian workers as they attempted to enter Israel for work. A Palestinian was also arrested during a raid on his home in the Old City.
Several villages were raided by occupation forces in Nablus on Wednesday night, including Sarra and Naqoura, with Palestinians being detained. They also stormed Qalandiya refugee camp and Kafr Aqab in Jerusalem, while also launching an arrest campaign in the city of Hebron and its villages in the southern West Bank.
Israeli forces also stormed the villages of Beit Rima and Kafr Ni’ma in Ramallah and raided homes and farms there. Raids continue here following reports by Israeli Army Radio a few days ago that two primitive rockets had been found near Kafr Ni’ma, the incident being described as ‘exceptional’.

Collective Punishment
In the city of Tulkarm, north of the occupied West Bank, occupation forces raided the town of Deir al-Ghusun, north of the city.
As part of Tel Aviv’s policy of collective punishment, the occupation army arrested approximately 1,300 Palestinians in just two days in Tulkarm. This occurred during a campaign launched after two of its soldiers were injured by an explosive device a week ago.
The massive arrest campaign took place last week across all neighborhoods of the city. The detained Palestinians were taken to a public square by the Israeli army and detained for several hours. Video clips showed long lines of Palestinian detainees surrounded by Israeli soldiers and military vehicles.
This occurred after two Israeli soldiers were slightly injured when an explosive device targeting a military vehicle blew up near the city on September 11.
According to Al-Jazeera, Faisal Salama, Deputy Governor of Tulkarm, says that the Israeli army is implementing a policy of collective punishment which aims to humiliate and insult citizens by forcing them into long lines, placing them in public places and detaining them for several hours, followed by brief interrogations before releasing them.
Salama added that this measure was accompanied by a campaign of searches and harassment of Palestinian citizens, spanning two full days, emphasizing that about 1,300 Palestinians were detained within 48 hours.
Arbitrary arrest campaigns aim to impose a harsh reality and force citizens to pay a price, he explained. He also noted that Tulkarm has been experiencing a state of conflict and instability since the start of the war of extermination in Gaza on October 7, 2023, amid weekly raids on the city and its camp, lasting hours and days at a time.

Continuous Aggression
The Israeli occupation army has been carrying out a large-scale military operation inside the Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps since January 27.
Data from the NGO, Tulkarm Media Committee, states that the occupation completely destroyed more than 600 homes during its recent aggression on the two camps, with approximately 2,573 homes sustaining partial damage.
All of this is part of a plan approved by Israel last May, which calls for the demolition of 106 buildings under the pretext of opening roads and changing the area’s landmarks.
The Israeli army and settlers have escalated their attacks in the West Bank, which includes East Jerusalem, in parallel with the ongoing genocide in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of at least 1,042 Palestinians, approximately 10,160 injured and the arrests of more than 19,000, according to the Palestinian Government Liaison Office.
Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, with the support of the US. In Gaza, this has resulted in 65,141 dead and 165,925 wounded, most of them children and women, while a man-made famine has claimed the lives of 428 Palestinians, including 146 children.
