Israel Revokes more than 1500 Work Permits from Gaza Businesses

Ali Alhayek, the Head of Palestinian Business People Association in the Gaza Strip said yesterday that the Israeli authorities have revoked 1509 work permits from business people in Gaza since the beginning of the year, in addition to withdrawing 160 BMC cards granted to senior business people.

Alhayek stressed that such Israeli polices threaten the business environment in the Gaza Strip and put the business of the people of Gaza at risk.

He noted that Gaza’s economy has been exhausted due to ten years of the Israeli siege and such polices would make the situation even worse.

Alhayek added that the Israeli authorities intentionally prevent the passage of goods belonging to Gaza’s merchants, which ruins their business.

He concluded that these Israeli policies aim at destroying Gaza’s economy in addition to controlling materials entering Gaza for factories.
