The Israeli occupation has reignited catastrophic violence in Gaza, with the Government Media Office confirming a brutal new massacre and territorial expansion into the ‘Yellow Zone,’ fueling urgent calls for international enforcement of the ceasefire.
The Government Media Office in Gaza denounced a new Israeli massacre east of Gaza City, a devastating act that coincides with the occupation’s expansion into the so-called ‘Yellow Zone.’ The office declared the continuous Israeli aggression a clear violation of the existing ceasefire.
The total casualty figures from the intensified Israeli raids and shellings on Wednesday and Thursday are staggering, resulting in at least 37 Palestinians killed and 77 injured across Gaza City and Khan Yunis.
The victims included an entire family erased from the civil registry, a father and his three children, and a man and his wife. Civil Defense reported that 34 Palestinians were killed on Wednesday alone.
Specific strikes included an Israeli air raid that killed six and injured others, including women and children, in a building housing displaced persons in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood. Additionally, three Palestinians were killed and others injured by Israeli drone fire on tents housing displaced people in the Al-Mawasi area, which was meant to be a refuge west of Khan Yunis.

Testimonies of Terror
Ashraf Abu Sultan, a resident who returned to Gaza City after a year of displacement, told the AFP news agency: “The killing and bombing do not stop… We barely fixed one room in our destroyed house… The bombing and death started again.”
In the Al-Mawasi displacement zone, Nivin Ahmed recounted the sudden return to terror: “Suddenly, the bombing started. I was talking to my neighbor when we heard the sound of the bombing and saw smoke rising. People were running, and ambulances were recovering the dead.”
Another displaced woman, Nuha Fathi, expressed profound despair: “In the past two days, there was talk of international forces in Gaza. Today, dozens of martyrs are killed without warning… We cannot continue living this way: bombing, death, siege, displacement.”
Territorial Breaches
The Government Media Office said that Israel is also expanding into the Yellow Zone, which constitutes less than half of the total size of the Gaza Strip region.
It stressed that the unilateral Israeli expansion into the Yellow Zone eastward constitutes a grave and strategic breach of the ceasefire terms.
The Israeli military justified its massacres of civilians by claiming it targeted Hamas leadership, alleging an attack on a meeting of commanders in Al-Zaytoun, including the commander of the Al-Zaytoun Battalion and the head of the naval unit in the Al-Qassam Brigades. Israel stated the attacks were in response to alleged fire on its forces in Khan Yunis.
Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem strongly condemned the “major massacre,” denying the Israeli claims as a “flimsy and exposed attempt” to justify the non-stop crimes and violations of the truce. He noted that the continued behavior reflects a clear disrespect for the mediators and guarantor countries.

Palestinian Fury and Mediator Demands
Palestinian factions unanimously condemned the renewed aggression. The Mujahideen Movement asserted that the continued bloodshed proves Israel’s violation of the truce, which resistance groups have upheld.
The Government Media Office declared that the continuing silence of the mediators and guarantors, coupled with the “international impotence” regarding Israel’s crimes, was “no longer acceptable.”
Hamas urgently called on the mediators—specifically Egypt, Qatar, Turkiye, and the United States—to fulfill their obligations as guarantors and take “serious and urgent action” to compel the occupation to respect the ceasefire and stop its criminal acts.
Hamas reported that the Israeli escalation has resulted in over 300 martyrs since the ceasefire was signed on October 10th, alongside the continued policy of home demolition and the closure of the Rafah crossing.
The movement accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of seeking to resume the genocide against the Palestinian people.
