An Israeli drone struck a car near Jiyeh on Tuesday, part of ongoing attacks that have killed hundreds since the November 2024 ceasefire with Hezbollah.
An Israeli drone targeted a car on Tuesday near the Zaroot mosque, between the towns of Jiyeh and Barja in the Iqlim al-Kharroub region of the Chouf district in Mount Lebanon, central Lebanon.
“A short while ago, an enemy drone targeted a car near the Zaroot mosque, near the town of Jiyeh, 30 kilometers south of Beirut,” the official Lebanese National News Agency reported, adding that the Israeli army carried out a bombing operation in the Khanouk area on the outskirts of the town of Aitaroun in the south.
On Monday, five people were killed in other Israeli airstrikes on eastern Lebanon, according to the Ministry of Health.

The raids came after the government welcomed, during a session held last Friday, a plan proposed by the army for disarmament.
The Israeli army claims that it “strikes Hezbollah targets in the area, including Radwan Force camps.
In October 2023, Israel launched an aggression on Lebanon, which escalated into a full-scale war in September 2024. More than 4,000 people were killed and about 17,000 were wounded.
In November 2024, a ceasefire agreement was reached between the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah and Israel. Despite this, Israel has violated the terms of the agreement more than 3,000 times, resulting in the killing of 267 Lebanese civilians and 608 injuries, according to official data.
The ceasefire agreement, which ended a devastating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, stipulated a cessation of hostilities and Israel’s withdrawal from positions within Lebanon to which it had advanced during the last war.
However, Israel has continued to maintain the presence of its forces on five hills in southern Lebanon. It has also continued to carry out, almost daily, airstrikes on various areas.
