Israeli occupation forces killed five Lebanese, including three children, in a targeted drone attack in South Lebanon.
An Israeli drone strike targeted a motorcycle in the southern Lebanese town of Bint Jbeil on Sunday, killing five people, including three children, with several others wounded, according to a preliminary toll released by the Health Emergency Operations Center at Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health.
Multiple victims with injuries were transferred to nearby hospitals, while searches for victims by rescue teams continued in the area around the strike.
Three children from the Charara family and their father, Chadi, were among the dead, while their mother and older sister were severely wounded and are currently under intensive care, Lebanese media reported.
Lebanon’s Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri said that the three children – named as Celine, Hadi, and Aseel – and their father were United States citizens.
According to Al Mayadeen, the drone hit the motorcycle in the town center. Simultaneously, Israeli occupation forces fired flares over the skies of Aitaroun and launched additional flares between Yaroun and Maroun al-Ras in an effort to ignite fires in the surrounding groves.
In another incident, an Israeli drone dropped a bomb in the town of Kfar Kela during the funeral of Hassan Sharour, who was killed in a Saturday Israeli airstrike on the Khardali area.

One Killed in Israeli Airstrike
On Saturday, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said that an Israeli strike killed one person in the south of the country, marking the latest deadly attack despite a ceasefire reached months ago.
The strike targeted a vehicle on the al-Khardali road in the Marjayoun area, according to the ministry. First responders were seen at the scene next to the charred remains of a white vehicle, Agent France-Press (AFP) reported.
“The Israeli enemy strike on a vehicle on the al-Khardali road killed one person,” the ministry said in a statement.
Despite a truce agreed upon in November, which aimed at ending more than a year of cross-border hostilities, Israeli occupation forces have continued to launch attacks inside Lebanon.
Lebanese officials said that the Israeli occupation has also continued to illegally occupy five areas of southern Lebanon which it considers strategically significant.
