Israeli forces killed at least 15 Palestinians in a massacre in Al-Zawaida and intensified raids on Gaza City, while resistance fighters destroyed military vehicles and killed an Israeli soldier in the north.

Israeli occupation forces carried out a massacre in the Al-Zawaida area at dawn on Thursday, killing at least 15 Palestinians in an airstrike that targeted the Abu Dahrouj family home in the central Gaza Strip, Al-Jazeera reported.

Images from the scene showed extensive destruction, bodies being transported by ambulances, and residents searching through the rubble.

According to Palestinian sources, the attack marked one of the deadliest in an area that had previously been less affected by Israel’s devastating bombardment.

Nearby, several people were injured in an Israeli strike on a house in Nuseirat camp, while another raid hit Al-Bureij camp.

In southern Gaza, the Nasser Medical Complex reported four people killed in a strike west of Khan Yunis, and three others killed earlier near the Jordanian Hospital in the city.

Meanwhile, Gaza City continued to face relentless raids, particularly in western neighborhoods. Drones and warplanes struck Al-Rimal, Tal al-Hawa, and Jaffa Street in the Tuffah neighborhood, leaving many injured.

These attacks accompany Israel’s ongoing ground advance into the city’s northern, southern, and eastern neighborhoods as part of “Operation Gideon Chariots 2.”

Palestinian resistance groups responded with operations targeting Israeli forces. The Al-Qassam Brigades announced the destruction of two Merkava tanks in Tel al-Hawa with Al-Yassin 105 missiles, releasing footage of one tank exploding. The group also warned that the expansion of Israeli operations in Gaza City would put Israeli prisoners at greater risk.

Separately, the Al-Quds Brigades said its fighters destroyed an Israeli military vehicle in Tel al-Hawa with an anti-tank explosive device.

The continued Israeli bombardment has displaced nearly half a million Palestinians from Gaza City, though about 900,000 remain trapped under siege. Families fleeing toward Al-Mawasi face dire humanitarian conditions, with food shortages forcing people to queue for hours at charitable kitchens for meager meals.

On Wednesday alone, 85 Palestinians were killed in Israeli bombings, including 50 in Gaza City. According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the death toll since October 7, 2023, has reached 65,419, with 167,160 wounded.

Amid these developments, the Israeli army confirmed the death of a first sergeant from the Nahal Brigade in battles north of Gaza, reportedly killed by a Palestinian sniper.

Israeli media said army units attempted to pursue the sniper with heavy fire but failed to locate him. Another soldier from the Givati Brigade was seriously wounded in fighting in the north.
