Israeli airstrikes and artillery fire hit multiple areas of Gaza despite the ceasefire, as Israel signals it will not withdraw and continues restricting aid and movement.

Israeli occupation forces carried out new airstrikes, artillery shelling, and gunfire across several areas of the Gaza Strip on Thursday, in continued violations of the ceasefire agreement, as Israeli officials signaled no intention to withdraw from key areas of the besieged enclave.

Witnesses reported that Israeli artillery and aircraft targeted the al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City, while additional shelling struck eastern areas of the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

In southern Gaza, Israeli military vehicles opened fire east of Khan Yunis, according to local sources.

The attacks took place in areas where Israeli forces remain deployed despite the ceasefire. No immediate information was available regarding casualties or material damage at the time of reporting.

The latest strikes come amid ongoing Israeli military activity since the ceasefire took effect.

According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, nearly 450 Palestinians have been killed and more than 1,200 injured in Israeli attacks since the truce began.

Since October 2023, Israel’s genocide in Gaza has killed more than 71,400 Palestinians, the majority of them women and children, and wounded over 171,000 others.

Israel has also continued to block the reopening of Gaza’s border crossings, including Rafah, despite a UN Security Council resolution adopted in November 2025 calling for a permanent ceasefire, unrestricted humanitarian access, and the reconstruction of the territory.

Against this backdrop, Israeli media reported that the Israeli government does not intend to withdraw east of the so-called “yellow line” in Gaza unless progress is made on disarming Hamas.

Israeli officials have indicated that military operations could resume or expand if disarmament conditions are not met, even as the second phase of the US-brokered ceasefire plan has been formally announced.

US officials have confirmed that Washington intends to engage in discussions regarding disarmament and future governance in Gaza, while Israeli leaders have reiterated that the next phase of the agreement focuses on dismantling Hamas without a full Israeli military withdrawal from the Strip.

Palestinian officials and factions have warned that continued Israeli military action, delays in withdrawal, and restrictions on aid undermine the ceasefire and worsen an already catastrophic humanitarian situation, as hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians continue to live in makeshift shelters amid winter conditions and widespread destruction.

Despite international mediation efforts, Israeli military violence in Gaza has persisted, raising further doubts about the durability of the ceasefire and the prospects for relief, recovery, and reconstruction in the devastated enclave.
