This result reflected “the highest level of opposition and lowest level of support for the US sending more military aid to Israel” since November 2023.
More than half of American voters disapprove of the government’s military support of Israel, while 50 percent believe Israel is committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, a new poll found.
Six in 10 voters (60 percent) oppose the United States sending more military aid to Israel in its war on Gaza, while 32 percent support it, according to results of the Quinnipiac University poll released on Wednesday.

This result reflected “the highest level of opposition and lowest level of support for the US sending more military aid to Israel” since the university first asked this question of registered voters on November 2, 2023, in the wake of the Palestinian resistance operation on October 7, 2023.
Those who opposed the US’ support of the military campaign included 75 percent of Democrats and 66 percent of independents, while 56 percent of Republicans supported it.
Gaza Genocide
Of those polled, fifty percent of voters think Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, while “35 percent do not think Israel is committing genocide and 15 percent did not offer an opinion.”
Voters who believed Israel is committing genocide in Gaza were made up of 77 percent of Democrats and 51 percent of independents, while 64 percent of Republicans do not think Israel is committing genocide.
Genocide in Gaza: A Stain on Us All and a Test of Our Humanity
On the question of whether voters’ sympathies lie more with the Israelis or Palestinians based on what they know about the situation in the Middle East, 37 percent said the Palestinians, while 36 percent said the Israelis, and 27 percent did not offer an opinion.
This is “an all-time high for the Palestinians and an all-time low for the Israelis” since the Quinnipiac University Poll began asking this question of registered voters in December 2001, the university noted.
Trump’s Role
“Support for the Palestinians grows while the appetite for funding Israel militarily dips sharply. And a harsh assessment of the way Israel is prosecuting the Gaza campaign invokes a word of infamy,” Tim Malloy, Quinnipiac University Polling analyst, stated.

Voters were also asked about Trump’s handling of Israel’s military operation in Gaza. Results showed that 34 percent approved, while 53 percent disapproved, with 12 percent not offering an opinion.
Close to 63,000 Killed
Since reneging on the ceasefire on March 18, Israel has continued its bloody aerial bombardment across the Gaza Strip, killing and wounding thousands of Palestinians.
Starting on October 7, 2023, the Israeli military, with American support, launched a genocidal war against the people of Gaza. This campaign has so far resulted in the deaths of more than 62,900 Palestinians, with more than 159,000 wounded. The vast majority of the population has been displaced, and the destruction of infrastructure is unprecedented since World War II. Thousands of people are still missing.

In addition to the military assault, the Israeli blockade has caused a man-made famine, leading to the deaths of hundreds of Palestinians—mostly children—with hundreds of thousands more at risk.
Despite widespread international condemnation, little has been done to hold Israel accountable. The nation is currently under investigation for genocide by the International Court of Justice, while accused war criminals, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, are officially wanted by the International Criminal Court.
