Israeli forces intensified their assault on Gaza, killing dozens—including families and aid seekers—while mobilizing tens of thousands of troops for a planned ground operation in Gaza City.

Israeli occupation forces carried out heavy bombardment across the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, targeting inhabited homes, tents sheltering displaced families, and crowds of starving Palestinians searching for food. The attacks resulted in scores of deaths and injuries, according to Al-Jazeera

Hospital sources cited in Al-Jazeera said that 24 Palestinians were killed since dawn, including 15 in Gaza City, amid relentless aerial and artillery shelling that destroyed residential areas.

Thousands of civilians are heading towards southern and northern Gaza City neighborhoods toward the coast, as Israel mobilizes forces to launch “Operation Gideon Chariots 2,” aimed at occupying Gaza City.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the call-up of 40,000 reservists, describing the campaign as entering a “decisive stage.”

At Al-Shifa Medical Complex, five Palestinians—including a pregnant woman and her unborn child—were killed in an Israeli airstrike on an apartment near the fishermen’s port.

Israeli airstrikes also hit tents sheltering displaced families near Al-Rantisi Hospital, injuring several.

Other raids targeted homes in the Al-Nafaq, Al-Sabra, and Al-Daraj neighborhoods, killing at least 10 more Palestinians.

Shelling continued in Sheja’iyya, Sheikh Radwan, and Abu Iskandar, where Israeli forces detonated entire residential buildings, according to Al-Jazeera reports.

Ambulance services reported that incendiary bombs dropped by Israeli drones set fire to ambulances at the Sheikh Radwan Clinic, putting them out of service. Medical and civil defense crews attempting to extinguish the blaze also came under fire.

In Rafah, three Palestinians were killed and more than 50 were injured when occupation forces opened fire on crowds of hungry people waiting at an aid control point run by the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.

Similar attacks in Khan Yunis left additional casualties, with funerals held at Nasser Hospital for Palestinians killed while trying to access food aid.

In central Gaza, Al-Awda Hospital reported 12 deaths and 16 injuries over the past 24 hours—including five children and a woman—after Israeli forces shelled another aid distribution site.

Five more people were killed in an airstrike on a tent west of the Nuseirat refugee camp. Emergency services said Israeli drones also struck the al-Sawariha area, injuring five.

Since March, the renewed Israeli offensive has killed over 11,500 Palestinians and injured nearly 49,000. According to the Ministry of Health, more than 2,300 Palestinians have been killed and 17,000 wounded since the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, operating under US-Israeli sponsorship, assumed control of the aid file last May.
