A stabbing operation in Ateret left three Israeli soldiers injured as Israeli occupation forces launched widespread raids, shootings, and home demolitions across the occupied West Bank.

Three Israeli occupation soldiers were injured in a stabbing operation at the entrance to the settlement of Ateret, north of Ramallah, Palestinian sources reported on Tuesday. According to Israeli reports, the Palestinian who carried out the operation near the villages of Atara and Umm Safa was shot and killed by Israeli occupation forces.

Israeli media said that a Palestinian stabbed two Israelis, who were later transferred to a hospital for treatment. Israeli soldiers on site opened fire and killed the Palestinian accused of carrying out the operation.

The incident comes amid a renewed escalation of Israeli aggression across the occupied West Bank, including raids, arrests, and attacks targeting Palestinians and their communities.

Escalation across the West Bank

Earlier Tuesday, a 35-year-old Palestinian woman was shot with live ammunition by Israeli forces at the Mazmuria checkpoint near Bethlehem, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.

Israeli forces also stormed several hospitals in the city of Hebron (Al-Khalil), including Al-Ahli Hospital, the vicinity of Al-Mizan Hospital, and Muhammad Ali Al-Muhtaseb Hospital. Raids were also reported in multiple areas of Tubas, Hebron, and Nablus.

In the Ramallah district, Israeli forces raided the town of Beit Rima, sealing all entrances and imposing tightened military measures that restricted the movement of residents.

Palestinian media additionally reported that Israeli forces are preparing to demolish the home of the family of a Palestinian accused of carrying out a bus operation in the Al-Ma’ajeen neighborhood of Nablus — a longstanding policy used as collective punishment.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian General Authority for Civil Affairs confirmed that the 17-year-old Palestinian accused of carrying out a ramming operation on Monday, Muhannad Tareq Muhammad al-Zughaier, was killed by Israeli forces in Hebron.

On December 1, al-Zughaier reportedly accelerated his vehicle toward Israeli soldiers stationed at the Yehuda Junction in the southern West Bank, injuring a female soldier before fleeing under gunfire.

Hamas Statement

The Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas said in a statement that the operation near Halhul reflects the “legitimate anger” and resistance of the Palestinian people amid daily executions, raids, home demolitions, and systematic violence carried out by Israeli forces in Gaza and the West Bank.

Hamas added that the growing pace of resistance in the occupied West Bank is a direct consequence of Israeli aggression, Judaization, settlement expansion, annexation attempts, and efforts to impose new realities on the ground by force. 

The movement emphasized that armed resistance remains a legitimate response to occupation and its crimes.

These developments come as the West Bank experiences one of the most intense periods of repression in decades. 

Since the start of Israel’s genocide in Gaza on October 8, 2023, Israeli forces and settlers have killed at least 1,085 Palestinians, injured more than 10,000, and arrested over 21,000.
