This year’s Arab Cup in Qatar has been marked by several tightly contested matches, and Palestine’s performance has been a tournament highlight. Coming into the game, Palestine rode the momentum of a crucial win over the host nation, Qatar, in their first group fixture.

A Tale of Two Halves

The match against Tunisia started as a difficult affair for Palestine. The Eagles of Carthage took the lead in the 16th minute from a corner kick, capitalized upon by Al-Ayouni. Tunisia doubled their lead just four minutes into the second half (49′) when a costly defensive error allowed Firas Chaouat to score into an empty net, putting Tunisia up 2-0.

However, the second half saw a dramatic shift in momentum spurred by continuous Palestinian pressure.

The Palestinian Firepower

The comeback began in the 61st minute when Hamed Hamdan unleashed a spectacular rocket of a shot to pull one back for Palestine, changing the score to 2-1 and igniting hope.

Palestine intensified their attack in the final minutes, rewarded in the 85th minute. Forward Zaid Qambar cemented his team’s heroic effort by striking a superb, powerful shot to level the score at 2-2.

The final minutes saw both sides pushing for a winner, with Palestinian goalkeeper Rami Hamada making a decisive save in the 90th minute to deny Tunisia a late goal, securing the valuable point for his side.
