Fidan met with a Hamas delegation in Istanbul to discuss the Gaza ceasefire, during which Hamas submitted a report detailing Israeli violations that have killed hundreds of Palestinians since the agreement’s implementation.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met on Saturday in Istanbul with a delegation from the political bureau of the Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas, according to the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

Citing informed sources, the Anadolu News Agency reported that the discussions focused on the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the latest developments on the ground, and the urgent need to expand humanitarian aid.

In a statement, Hamas said the meeting addressed recent developments in the Palestinian issue and the situation in Gaza following the ceasefire agreement.

The delegation detailed Israeli violations of the agreement — including the bombing and killing of about 250 Palestinians, the continued closure of the Rafah crossing, and other breaches.

According to the movement, the delegation also handed the Turkish Foreign Minister a detailed memorandum documenting Israel’s violations of the ceasefire since its implementation.

Hamas added that the head of its political bureau in Gaza, Khalil al-Hayya, reaffirmed the movement’s commitment to the ceasefire terms.

Gaza and the Genocide: Don’t Expect Any change from Israel

He stressed the need to proceed with national-level steps, such as forming an independent committee to manage Gaza and completing the comprehensive Israeli withdrawal from the Strip.

Meanwhile, Gaza’s Ministry of Health reported on Saturday that the death toll from Israel’s ongoing genocide has reached 68,858 Palestinians, with 170,664 wounded since October 2023.

A ceasefire brokered by US President Donald Trump on October 10 formally ended Israel’s two-year war of genocide on Gaza, yet the Israeli army has continued to violate it, killing 226 Palestinians and injuring 594 others since the agreement took effect, according to Gaza health authorities.
