Israeli occupation forces have arrested more than 620 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem since the start of October, statistics issued by a rights group have revealed. According to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, half of those detained are minors and most have been subjected to various forms of torture during their arrest. Some were arrested while wounded by live ammunition.

Most arrests, reported Quds Press, have taken place in Hebron and Jerusalem, with figures of 130 and 120 respectively. They are followed by Ramallah, with 95 arrested and then Nablus, Bethlehem, Jenin Tulkarem, Qalqilia, Salfit and Tubas. A further 116 Palestinian-Israeli citizens have also been arrested during the period in question.

The prisoners’ organisation said that the Israeli occupation authorities have issued 33 administrative detention orders since the start of this month. It noted that the number of Palestinians being held without charge or trial by Israel is now 400.
